A great follow-up class for those who have taken a Beginning Oil or Acrylic class, or someone who hasn't painted in awhile and is feeling "rusty" and needs a refresher. I paint extensively in both acrylic and oil and will work with each student in the medium of their choice. This class will help build your confidence so you can continue to paint on your own and many students leave with one or two completed paintings. (Make sure you check out the frames while there - they offer great discounts for students!)
I'll cover the following topics:
- How to simplify subject matter into basic shapes
- Basic drawing skills
- Brush up on color mixing
- Getting past the difficult details and learning to stay loose!
- Brushstrokes, glazing, scumbling, using a palette knife, varnishing, and other useful info!
I will provide photos and some still life objects for students to paint. If you have some favorite photos, bring them along. I will do brief demos throughout the class (I think it's more important to spend time helping YOU build up YOUR painting skills!).
