Kimberlee Maselli » About the Artist

Kimberlee Maselli's artwork explores a wide range of subject matter, with a strong focus on landscapes, coastal and woodland scenes. Her love of the natural beauty of the countryside, the vibrancy of the city and the tranquility of the sea is clearly reflected in her works. Her bold brushstrokes, palette knife texture and vibrant use of color leads the eye into her paintings and the viewer is invited to explore the subtle complexities and unfolding narrative.

Kimberlee’s paintings are regularly juried into national and international competitions, and she has received numerous awards for her work. Her work has been published in Art Collector, American Artist, Acrylic Artist, Natural Awakenings and ArtSee magazine and can also be found in the corporate collections of Duke Raleigh Hospital, Bowe Group, Capital Bank, UNC School of Nursing, Chroma, Glenaire, Daler-Rowney, Capitol Financial Solutions, and SoftWorks Innovations

A popular workshop instructor in both oils and acrylics, Maselli offers classes throughout the year. She is regularly invited to participate in the Art of the Carolinas, an annual event which draws thousands of artists to North Carolina each year. As a Chroma Teaching Artist she has been pivotal in helping professional artists and university students learn how to use this exciting new type of acrylic. She recently produced two instructional videos for Daler-Rowney and they will be a sponsor for one of the upcoming creativity based retreats that Maselli has been leading and organizing for the past 9 years. Kimberlee actively participates in the community to help foster the arts and is on several Executive Boards. She is one of the founding members of PAINTNC, North Carolina’s premiere plein air painting association, and her love for plein air motivated her latest book, “Painting North Carolina; Impressions en Plein Air.” The book was awarded a Gold Medal of Excellence in the 13th Annual International IPPY Competition and featured at Book Expo in New York City, the largest publishing event in North America.
